Annual Fountain Gardens commemoration

On Thursday 24th July, Members of Paisley Burns club joined other local clubs for a short ceremony in Fountain Gardens to commemorate the anniversary of the death of the bard on 21st July 1796. Wreaths were laid at the foot of the Robert Burns statue, which was erected in 1896, and a couple of short speeches were read out by Robert Pringle, president of the Robert Burns World Federation, and George Grant of the Renfrew Association of Breflecting on the enduring memory of our national poet.
